Use Writing to Heal Trauma and Grief

Heal your wounds of trauma and loss through the transformational power of writing. Discover and create meaning, help others, and remember with more love than pain.

Writing does have the power to heal trauma.

That’s why when I received this invitation from David Kessler, I had to share it with you. Watch this 22-minute video. You’ll find solid information about grief. And you’ll feel a surge of hope. Then consider joining this 5-week online workshop: Writing Through Loss and Trauma.

Personally, writing is the way I sort things out. I ‘hear’ the words in my head as I write.

You see, our brain operates on three different levels:

  • Conscious (Organizing),
  • Subconscious (Sorting),
  • and Unconscious (Creating) levels.

Each has a specific input mode: Auditory, Visual, and Kinesthetic.

I learned this from the work of Dawnna Markova, who studied with Ilana Rubenfeld. Find out more by checking out Dawnna’s book, The Art of the Possible.

If you follow this blog, you know I often recommend having a journal handy. I suggest writing your impressions and thoughts as you listen to your body and inner voice.

Read this article for more on journaling: Are You Afraid of Forgetting Them?

So, I invite you to check out David’s workshop beginning on November 17th. Click here for all the details.

Love all around, above, below, to the left and to the right, before you and behind you,

Georgena
